PRIVACY.POLICY

Last Updated: December 29, 2025

Look, we know nobody likes reading these things. But privacy is a big deal to us. Here's the plain English version of how we respect your data. No corporate lawyer speak, just the truth.

1. What We Actually Collect

1.1 The Auto-Stuff (Technical Data)

When you land on our site, our servers automatically pick up some basic info. It's standard stuff that makes the internet work:

  • IP Address: To stop bad actors and bots.
  • Device Info: So the site looks good on your phone, tablet, or PC.
  • Browser Type: To make sure our code runs smoothly for you.
  • Usage Stats: Which packs are trending? What pages are broken? This helps us fix things.

1.2 Stuff You Give Us

If you decide to create an account or upload a pack, you're obviously giving us some data:

  • Account Details: Username and email. That's pretty much it.
  • Your Content: The texture packs, images, and descriptions you upload.
  • Community stuff: Comments, ratings, and vibes you bring to the platform.

1.3 Cookies (The Digital Kind)

Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, sadly. Check out our Cookie Policy to see exactly what they do (spoiler: they keep you logged in and help us track basic stats).

2. Why We Need It

We're not hoarding data for fun. We use it to:

  • Run the site: Literally, to let you download and upload packs.
  • Improve performance: If a page loads slow, data tells us why.
  • Keep it safe: Detecting spam, bots, and malicious uploads.
  • Send emails: Only important stuff like "Reset Password" or "Account Verified". We won't spam you.
  • Keep the lights on: Displaying non-intrusive ads helps pay for our servers.

3. Who Else Sees It?

We DO NOT sell your personal data. Never have, never will.

We only share data with the essential services that keep this ship sailing:

  • Hosting & Storage: MinIO/S3 (where the files actually live).
  • Analytics: Google Analytics (we anonymize IPs because we respect your privacy).
  • Security: Services like Cloudflare that stop DDoS attacks.
  • The Law: If the police show up with a valid warrant, we have to comply. But that's it.

4. Locking It Down

We treat your data like our own Minecraft hardcore world — with extreme caution.

  • Encryption: Everything is encrypted via SSL/TLS (that little padlock icon).
  • Passwords: We hash them. Even we representatively can't see your password.
  • Backups: We backup daily, just in case a creeper blows up the server.

Real talk: No system is unhackable. Use a strong, unique password. Don't be "password123".

5. Your Rights (The Legal Stuff)

Whether you're in the EU (GDPR), California (CCPA), or anywhere else, we believe you own your data. You can:

  • See it: Ask us what we have on you.
  • Fix it: Tell us if something is wrong.
  • Nuke it: Ask us to delete your account and data completely.
  • Take it: Request an export of your data.

Want to do any of this? Shoot us an email at: privacy@texturepackminecraft.com

6. How Long We Keep It

Active Accounts: We keep your data as long as your account is alive.

Ghosts: If you haven't logged in for 2 years, we might wipe your inactive account to save space.

Logs: Server logs (IPs, etc.) are usually cleared or anonymized after a few months.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll tell you. We won't just sneak it in. We'll email you or put a big banner on the homepage if it's something major.

Still Have Questions?

We're real people. If something is unclear, just ask.
